Mike’s professional music career originated in 2009 when he trained on Drum Set with Cheech Iero, father of Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance, until the age of 18. From then, Mike attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. During his time here, Mike played in personal bands to session work which included a Jazz group with Sax legend, Walter Beasley & private sessions with Vic Firth drummer, Marko Djordjevic. After a quick two years, Mike left to pursue his own Alt/Rock band, Civil Youth.
The three piece Alt/Rock band was featured in hundreds of press outlets- some of the largest including Alternative Press magazine, Substream Magazine and many alike. HIs largest singles “Let You In” featuring Emarosa’s current front man, and “Between Me and You” were placed on iHeartMedia’s Radio 104.5FM with consistent spins on both The New Music Discovery Show as well as live on air. Civil Youth has also had success with their sophomore album, “Who Rescued Who” having placements in outlets such as MTV and VH1.
Aftering touring the country for years & playing with bands like Twenty One Pilots, AWOLNATION, Grouplove, Mutemath, Phantogram, Capital Cities, Judah & the Lion, Catfish and the Bottlemen and many more, Michael now focuses his time in the studio producing and writing for artists and T.V. Some of his early works included Carousel Kings, XOF (Mitch Rodgers of Varials), Daddex, Felly, Hailey Haus, & Salvo.
Today, Michael continues placing his music with outlets such as LandRover, Diesel, The Body Shop, & many more. In 2024, Michael teamed up with the ANDY Award winning music house, DuoTone to release a national commercial for Maaco, along with a list of other briefs alike.
